Mindfulness Monday – Kindness

“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”

~ Mark Twain

“Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness, and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.”

      • Oh, you did! You did! They are such a beautiful flower. I love that they come in various colors and shades and that you can dry them and they will last till they get too dusty to bear–LOL! 😉

        • I think.its cool that their color is determined by what’s in the soil.
My mother used to put nails in the ground near the roots. The nails would rust, and her hydrangeas were purple.
          True story.

  1. Reblogged this on Lorraine's frilly freudian slip and commented:

Yes, in this time of crisis, we need to be kind to others, and ourselves. Reach out, touch, share, hug, give to causes you believe in of your time and energy.
Be kind to those who don’t share your opinion or lifestyle. Then they might be kind back to others such as you.
Be kind, Wendy, to yourself. Thanks so much for this very timely post.

  2. Thanks for the reminder! I handed a tray to a stranger behind me queuing for food, and I saw the lady’s face was a little surprised. She even asked if that was for her. I said yes and smiled.
Small acts like these really do make me feel happy inside.

    • Reminds me of a quote by Ann Frank. “No one has ever become poor by giving.”
Just as no one has ever become sad by being kind.
It’s the small acts of kindness that make a huge impact on people’s lives.
I don’t think you needed a reminder. A lovely story.

  3. Hey Wendy! I need you to respond with a link to a post on Picnic about dealing with chronic pain – whatever you’d like me to use – old/new, any kind of pain. My September Awareness Calendar posts September 1, and you may already know that, among other things, September is Chronic Pain Awareness Month.

I can’t imagine linking to other blogs without checking with you! Your positive mindset would be SO encouraging to others, and I’d like to get at least a few of my readers over here to check you out. Get back to me, okay?

    • Hi Madelyn!
I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you. I wrote this yesterday and just saw that I never hit send. duh.
I saw you found some posts that will work for you. I’m glad. I’m sending this along anyway, since I already wrote it. ha!

How very sweet of you to think of me. Especially since I haven’t been posting a lot of informative posts recently, or getting over to other blogs very much. Don’t know why, but I’ve been doubting my writing ability…it’s not like I need to be a published author to write in my blog, silly me. I’ll get back to it.
I have one post on Migraine pain that might work. https://picnicwithants.com/2015/11/25/migraines-kept-me-away-lets-talk-about-it/
most of my posts on pain are about migraines. I have talked about Avascular Necrosis pain, but I didn’t write a whole post on it.
      here’s a couple that might work. https://picnicwithants.com/2016/05/05/migraine-madness/

I hope that helps, again, I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner.

      • Thanks Wendy – and please don’t worry about response time. I was trying to support you not make you feel bad! Normally this would be plenty of time. I decided to edit rather than write last night so I just jumped in.

Don’t doubt your writing “talent”, Wendy – your heart shines through brightly and that’s why people read you and want to. Don’t feel pressured to write when you don’t feel up to it either (or to comment). People take blogging breaks for all kinds of reasons. Friends may be concerned, but they will understand. I’ve never unfollowed anybody because the posted LESS – lol.
