“Radical acceptance means feeling sorrow and pain
without resisting.
It means feeling desire or dislike
without judging ourselves
or being driven to act on it.”
~Tara Brach
“Be the silent watcher of your thoughts and behavior.
You are beneath the thinker.
You are the mental noise.
You are the love and joy beneath the pain.”
Whoa. Powerful post! Love Tolle. Will have to check out more on Tara Brach. Nice Wen! I’m reading this during a thunderstorm so both poems are speaking to me with booms in the background, pretty cool. ~Kim
I so wish I could do something for you! The high pain will pass and you will get to the regular pain. Not much comfort but it’s something… I am going post these quotes by my desk, I need them everyday. Get through this one Wen! Thinking about you, my friend. ~Kim
Mainly right now, I hurt my back. Most everything is better. Mostly, it’s my darn back.
I hope you are having a low pain day.
I have a friend coming for a visit. Exciting, but nervous. I don’t want to be in pain the whole time she’s here.
We never want that, but it happens doesn’t it? I’ll persevere.
Sending good healing thoughts your way. Enjoy your friend Wen, she’ll be happy to see you no matter what. I always tell the people I visit there better be dirty dishes in the sink, dust on the coffee table and if the floor is vacuumed I am leaving cause you need a nap!
~Kim
‘You are the love and joy beneath the pain’ – I love this line – very touching! Great photo too – is it a type of cactus? Wishing you a great week Wendy.

Don’t go crazy looking for links for my Sept. calendar, my friend. I searched for your quotes on pain and inserted a link so that others could jump over to see them. The Pain blogroll won’t “ping” of course, but you should get one on this page. Monday – 9/1/17.

Reblogged this on Lorraine's frilly freudian slip and commented:
Strong words for weakened situations — pain does that to you. Mindfulness to handle the pain.

Thank you Carly. It is some type of cactus. We used to live in Palm Spings, that photo comes from that time. I’m glad you like it!!
