“If you want to conquer the anxiety of life,
live in the moment,
live in the breath.”
~Amit Ray
“Between stimulus and response there is a space.
In that space is our power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
~ Victor Frankl
Note: Severe anxiety takes a lot more than a couple of quotes to make it better. These are just thoughts one can try to keep in mind.
All artwork on Picnic With Ants are created by Wendy Holcombe unless otherwise noted.
I love this! I have ofter heard if you are anxious you are living in the future, if you are at peace you are living in the present. If you are anxious you are living in the past. But I like Victor Frankl’s message too. There is that space, the space that allows you to pause and take back the control of your response, not the stimuli, but the response. Can you beat this into my head please! Take good care my friend and thanks for this message today, when I need it the most! ~Kim

I’m so glad you liked it. As someone with anxiety it means a lot to me. I didn’t want to make light of it.
I love your comment!! Can I get everyone who comes there to read it too? It goes perfect with the post. Just what I was trying to say.
It really do put some thought in these posts. 🙂

OK, time for another nap, the saying goes like this; If you are anxious you are living in the future, if you are depressed, you are living in the past, if you are at peace your are living in the present. then there is the stimuli and the response. if we take that moment to pause, just before we answer, so we can take control back. We can respond calmly. I usually count a heartbeat, or three, deep breath and proceed… whatever it takes for that pause of that controlled answer. Not easy. Still do not get it right.

As you know, anxiety eats at my spirit and soul. These are quotes that offer perspective on the matter.
The image so conjures anxiety — all your images match, but this one particularly resonates.

Reblogged this on Lorraine's frilly freudian slip and commented:
Anxiety eats at my soul and spirit; I daily am engulfed in the arms of an anxiety attack.
Wendy’s image so conjures up the feeling of anxiety.
